Southern Green was appointed by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council (RCBC) to design and deliver public realm improvements, as part of Redcar’s £25 million Town Investment Plan.

The ‘Mighty Redcar’ is a northern coastal town with a distinct character and innovative industrial heritage. It is situated in North Yorkshire, approx. 7 miles east of the neighbouring town of Middlesbrough.

Southern Green’s public realm improvements include creating an attractive High Street, enhancing the Esplanade, a new public Events Space, and Station Road public realm works.  The development of a new public realm, alongside a new Anchor Building attraction, aims to restore the vibrancy of Redcar’s town centre and provide new flexible spaces for different activities throughout different seasons - displaying Redcar’s culture, heritage, and the coastal landscape.
