Last week we had the pleasure of undertaking a walkaround at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens with the Landscape Institute North East (LINE) Branch. It was an honour to contribute to the tour led by English Heritage staff - Dr Michael Klemperer Senior Gardens Advisor and Louise Hudspith CMLI Senior Landscape Advisor.

The LINE branch gained an insight into the ambitious Belsay Awakes project, which will breathe new life into the extraordinary picturesque landscape, which includes Grade I registered landscape, Grade I listed medieval castle and Grade I listed Greek revival hall of the Middleton family. The tour also focussed on the refreshment of the hall gardens (which were designed by Dan Pearson Studio). The Studio Hardie slide also went down a treat!

The awe-inspiring site continuously surprises and it is a privilege to be involved with this exciting project as lead landscape consultant.
