A day in the life of Liam!
Liam had a very exciting day on 24th January, travelling down to Hull for HYMC Queens Garden meetings, site visits and associated activities. Never one to miss an opportunity for some CPD (or a coffee shop stop!), the day was a long one, but very rewarding. Pictures and summary from Liam: -
- Early start
- Making the most of the peace and quiet on the train
- Arrived!
- A bit of opportunistic CPD (paving materials and laying patterns)
- We do love CPD at SG, another opportunity – successful urban tree and hedge planting (beautiful Gingko biloba)
- Emergency caffeine top up
- Mid morning – exploring new project sites
- Exciting client tour of existing public park to consider future plans
- Lunch supplies
- Working lunch – of course
- Early afternoon teams meetings
- Virtual tree selection – the weather is much nicer in Europe!!!
- Opportunity to soak up some local culture on the way back to the train station
- More CPD – this time not so successful urban planting (note to self/feedback to the team – ground level planting in heavily trafficked urban areas doesn’t work)
- Final CPD of the day – thought provoking review of anti-terrorism street furniture design outside the station (note to self/feedback for the team – presents a tricky balance between safety and clutter)
- Late finish – but well worth it! Many thanks to Hull City Council for making me feel so welcome.
