Centenary Memorial Garden opening
Last week, Ed Green attended the opening of the new Centenary Memorial Gardens, North Watford Cemetery. Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “North Watford Cemetery is a much-loved and important facility that I know brings comfort to many people. It is good that we have been able to provide this additional burial space, as well as alternative ways for people to remember their loved ones”.
Ed Green commented ‘the scheme has transformed several underutilised areas of the site and created a series of high quality spaces and gardens that are aimed to assist visitors in times of mourning and reflection.’
Working in partnership with Watford Borough Council, Southern Green created:
- A series of memorial gardens with different types of memorials
- The new ‘Centenary Memorial Garden’
- Ornamental garden for congregation and reflection
- Enhancements to the main entrance and Cemetery car park
- Enhancement to existing pond
- Introduction of benches to sit and reflect in peaceful surroundings
- Additional burial space
