Gaelic Football (Hurling) Club
As a result of proposals to develop the new Watford Health Campus, the Glen Rovers Gaelic Football Club had to be relocated. Radlett Road Playing Fields, which forms part of the Colne River Park, was chosen as the preferred site.
Survey works highlighted issues/ constraints including subsidence (as the site was formerly used for landfill), flooding, contamination, Japanese Knotweed, and highways. All issues required detailed investigation and reporting prior to the preparation and submission of a detailed masterplan for Local Authority approval.
The hurling pitch is one of the largest sports pitches built in UK in recent years.
