Gunnersbury Park was created in the 18th century by Alexander Copland and bought by the Rothschild family, which was later sold to the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Ealing Council to be used as a public park and local history museum.
Southern Green was appointed as Lead Consultants by Historic England, on behalf of the Gunnersbury Partnership, to review progress against the previous masterplan objectives and to identify those areas that are still in need of attention. It defines a new set of priorities for the park, which will help ensure this vital green space continues to support community health and wellbeing for many years to come.
Working closely with the Gunnersbury Park Partnership, stakeholders and community groups four main themes were developed together essential infrastructure improvements. The themes focussed on family hub, events hub, heritage focus and Capel Manor/multiple hubs. A development funding strategy is outlined including potential funding sources for each of the areas and proposals.
