Southern Green prepared the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment as part of a wider EIA for this major development site in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. Stephenson Quarter is one of the largest regeneration projects in the region, and will provide mixed-use development including a hotel, office and retail space, restaurants and residential accommodation.

The LVIA helped the Local Authority in their decision-making for the development, providing a range of photomontages to illustrate the potential impact of the development upon the wider cityscape, including adjacent conservation areas and listed buildings. An important part of this study was consideration of night-time views, including preparation of a sequence of night-time photomontages illustrating potential lighting schemes and views from major transport routes into the city.

The first phase of the development is now complete.
