As part of this HLF regeneration scheme, two exciting new play spaces have been created catering for children of all ages. A stimulating new woodland play area has been developed within a C19th pine plantation providing a diverse range of play experiences. Rustic timber play equipment is combined with incidental ‘natural play’ items including climbing boulders and balancing logs. A series of new woodchip footpaths weave their way through the woodland between new play features and provide access to scenic picnic sites sheltered from the coastal winds.
The historic former paddling pool site has been transformed into an exciting new contemporary water play area offering a variety of interactive play features. Specifically during the summer months, this has proven hugely successful with children of all ages.
