Southern Green was appointed to provide landscape design services for the Blyth Commissioners Quay masterplan which includes Blyth Workspace, the Commissioners Quay Inn, and separate residential proposals. The detailed design is directly rooted in the design guide originally prepared by Southern Green as part of the SPD.
In recent years Blyth has transformed into a very popular tourist destination, with the south beach acting as a year-round busy attraction to visitors. Blyth Workspace is now open and attracting local start-up businesses, while its frontage at Commissioners Quay is hosting the restoration of a Tall Ship.
Bespoke street furniture and a palette of salt tolerant species create a series of unique spaces within the masterplan. The investment in a high quality environment has brought confidence to the area resulting in wider economic and environmental improvements.
