Southern Green was appointed as part of a multi disciplinary team to design a high quality facility for the relocation of St. Benedict’s Hospice to Ryhope. The project was designed and implemented on a condensed time frame to meet the client brief. Detailed consultations were held to understand the particular needs of the staff and client’s, and the annual ‘Light Up A Life’ ceremony to celebrate the lives of patients and their family.

The scheme includes a new ornamental lake, courtyards, roof terrace spaces, and individual private external terraces which are directly linked to each patient bedroom. The grounds provide patients and their families with a range of opportunities for private relaxation and quiet contemplation, as well as active spaces for light exercise and group activities.
